RBS Dairy

It’s back and it’s better than ever! I was in chase of sighting Riven Terns this season and traveled all the way to RBS (Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary) which is around 160 kms away from Bangalore but I ended up landing in a different and an amazing world of Storks & Pelicans. I have never closely watched these migratory birds in their breeding stages and spent enough time with them. Shivu & I landed just in time they arrived to RBS and started to unfold their stories. I was thrilled to see Pelicans’ skill at collecting...

Harivu… Not a movie but a dream

ಸ್ಥಾವರಕ್ಕಳಿವುಂಟು, ಜಂಗಮಕ್ಕಳಿವಿಲ್ಲ. – ಬಸವಣ್ಣ We were connected to this dream of making a movie indirectly from the time its conceptualized almost 4 years ago. From a dream to making it a reality, it has taken almost everything from Mansore. As a viewer, I perceive this dream of movie is at its best to make the audience to connect with their own selves and rethink about the relation they own with their family, friends and the worldly things surrounded. I am sure the emotions would impact everyone at some point before it ends and leaves you...

Julley Ladakh

Ladakh is like heaven covered with mesmerizing snow-capped mountains everywhere. I was always a great pleasure to stay so close to the mountains. When it comes to photography, I am sure anybody would easily get tiered of clicking within one or two days. Since everything is so picture perfect and tempts capture each and everything you find it. This time my goal was to capture to these beautiful mountains, sky as is. Here is my attempt to capture landscape from hill top monasteries in and around Leh. Take a look. View from Thikse Monastery View...

Birds of Ladakh

Here is the glimpse of Himalayan birds sighted during our recent trip to Leh. We found plenty of Black Billed Magpie near the hotel, Kanishka in Leh. At first sight, it looked like a crow and we started addressing them as Kashmeri Kaage (Kaage is Crow in Kannada). It has quite attractive bluish-green feathers but pretty irritating rapid call like crows. Black & white colour on the body, long tail and dark bill adds to its beauty. Black Billed Magpie Another bird sighted near the hotel in Leh was Cinereous Tit, as sub–species of Great tit....

Kids with Wiki

I was always curious to know about how would kids react when they realize that Wikipedia can be edited by them as well. Because Wikipedia has been the key to create an alternate way for Kids to reach out to information. It has made them be more creative and to learn in their own way.  Shivu & I were always discussing on how to make this happen since very long. It was a perfect timing when Shivu met Prof. Y. C. Kamala from The National Degree College in one of the Wiki Workshop and pitched the idea of reaching out to kids to make them...

A day in Wiki Women Workshop

As we all know, Wikipedia is the world’s biggest encyclopedia and recognized as the 5th most website accessed by people across the globe. Being one of the biggest community driven project, Wikipedia has pooled in millions of articles which have been added/edited/monitored/ by people like you and me. By nature, gender has not only been the distinguishing factor for human being but also acts as a barrier to perform limited set of activities from the ages.
